Again this year, Mason - Dixon VFW Post 7234 is proud to be a collection point for the local area Toys for Tots Drive. To help the local Toys for Tots campaign kick off the 2025 season, we are requesting members to bring a NEW, UNWRAPPED toy to one of the upcoming Volunteer Appreciation Dinners, Bull & Oyster Roast, Trivia/Mingo Nights, Flip 5 Nights - - - or any other time you visit the Post. The National Campaign officially kicks off on October 1.
Local toy distribution begins November 24! The local campaign does not wait until Christmas Eve to distribute toys because the need is too great. Last year the campaign distributed toys to over 4,300 children ages 0-13. Early donation of toys helps determine how many children can be helped.
The campaign is always short of toys, especially for children aged 8-13. Some ideas for this age group include: fishing equipment (poles, tackle, etc.), balls, craft kits, science (STEM) kits, Legos, remote control cars, board games for older kids, make-up kits for older girls, hand held games, skateboards (with helmet), bikes (with helmet), etc.
